Woodsball tournament.

Obviously Norm tried to do the 5MWT, and it didn't work out for what ever reason. I was watching UWL videos and was inspired to try and inspire other to help me with this idea. After seeing these videos you may also be inspired.

With the extreme explosion of social media and the internet in general I think we could get the word out and possibly get people and teams from all over. I think making a promo video and posting it all over MCB, PBN, and Mainepb would also help very much.

Please post up your ideas for a woodsball tournament and maybe we can work things out and get enough people interested and get this going for next year.

Back then there just wasn't interest. There were only 2 teams willing to do it. I do believe these days there would be more interest and more teams willing to slug it out for a day of woods tourney.
Back then Norm had a few things ironed out well to suit the field and teams. Ask him if he's still got the rules jotted down somewhere.

*Have a few dedicated refs, at least one for permanent chrono duty. At least 3 per game depending on whether it was a 3 flag game or 4 flag game. 4 flag seemed more fair. The weaker teams could get into the points with 4 flags. At least 1 ref per flag to record points and time.

* 4 flags total. 2 home base flags, 2 center flags. Points accumulated based on time your color is flying. So, if you controlled a flag and your color was up your team would get "X" amount of points for every 30 seconds or whatever. The more flags you control with your color the more points.

*5 man because its easier to get 5 guys together than 7 or 10. I was thinking 4 man plus a mandatory pumper.

* respawns once you reach 3 guys in the box and/or every 7-10 minutes depending on game length.

* grenades and launchers ok. Got to iron out launcher kill radius.

* I was thinking maybe do this with limited paint so theres more strategy involved. Say like maybe limited to 3 pods, or 4 pods per player. Once thru chrono everyone enters field with empty hopper and issued 3-4 pods. Paint can be distributed whatever way desired once in the start box. Possibly the sniper/pumper could give up some paint to the heavy gunner back guy. Just an idea.

I was thinking more of whom ever owned the flag at the end of the game gets the points for that flag. The flag at the other team's base would be worth more points then the ones in the middle or your own team's flag.

I think 5 man would be better also, it'd be easier to get teams of 5 people rather then teams of 7 or 10 people.

As far as respawns go I like the 3 guys in the box idea. I'm sure on the 7-10 minutes thing, I'm not sure how long games should be yet.

Kill radius for the launchers I thought 20 feet would be big enough. I've never played with launchers/ mortars so I'm not sure how well that would work out.

Limited paint for teams is a great Idea, but I don't want people to be put off and not want to play because they can't totally fill their pod packs.

I feel like the teams should be able to use as muchpaint as they want ..just an opinion and I like the mandatory one pump
