| I'm down for whatever works with you guys... I like the Pissed and Broke or Stealth....And, hell yeah, I'll be at Lost as well! Remember dudes, age means nothing, and that applies to both ends of the spectrum... No reason to worry about who takes you seriously, those people will be walking off covered with paint anyway | |

| I think what Danny may have seen was their affiliate program, not their sponsorship stuff.
I checked it out and filled out the forms...We are now officially Tippmannparts.com Sales Affiliates. It pretty much means we get to keep 5% of any sales we make as a team to tippmannparts.com through our links/banners...When people click a link or banner that we place, and buy something through it, we are credited 5% of the final sale value. We can scatter the banners throughout different forums, social networking sites like twitter or facebook, and wherever else a lot of people go.
http://www.TippmannParts.com/?Click=29479
It pretty much also works backwards for us as a 5% discount off any tippmann parts...

Example: Someone clicks that link, buys a Tippmann 98 Platinum for a hundred bucks...we get $5.

| Okay, I looked up prices for team iron-on patches and it was just ridiculous... Some businesses wanted upwards of $50 per patch, others made you order at least 250...It sounds completely bogus to me. Anyone on Team51, where did you guys get your patches, and is there any hope of getting 5 team patches for 5 people for under 20 bucks total? Remember, we're pissed n BROKE![i][b] Worse case scenario, I'll just get us a bunch of disposable stickers with that design on it and we'll just slap one on our arm before we play and throw 'em in the trash afterwards | |

| Trum, don't be a (Word that rhymes with mass) Rufus, We're looking for 5, we have 3. That's why we're keeping this on the forums..so people that may be potentially interested are still up-to-par with the rest of us as far as what's going on. We'll take it to PM or E-mail once we get 5, or if we find out we're bugging a lot of people by keeping it here.. | |

They're not patches, I printed them and we can tape them to our arms for now, lol... Gotta start somewhere

| First, I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I've got a baby on the way and will be pretty busy in the coming weeks/months. If things change, I'll let you know. Thanks for thinking of me though.
Second, one piece of advice for you guys... It's doesn't matter so much what's on your arms or vests or chest or back...it matters what's in your head, heart and standing next to you. The only way to legitimize yourself as a team is to play together, and then play together some more and then drill, drill some more and then still play together even more. I know and believe that above all else, it's supposed to be fun. If it's not fun then why do it. You should form a team based on common interests and goals. Forming a team for the sake of forming a team is not worth it. Do you plan to be competitive? Travel to far events? Join a competitive league? Do stuff together outside of paintball? Be a scenario only team? SPPL? Do simply want a cool group of people who enjoy paintball and enjoy eachother's company and possibly improve your individual skills over time?
These are the questions that need to be asked and answered. I'm probably being too serious about it all but when I make a commitment, I try to stick to it. I want it to be important to me and the people around me.
Third, have fun! | |

Third, have fun! that's pretty much why I'm not like, 100% committed yet, i'm not sure if I'm the kind of guy y'all are looking for, but I'm totally up for playing with a tighter group of guys and working on team building and stuff like that

| Good point Mike, I guess I kind of forgot about all of that in the excitement of being part of a team. I'm sure that'll be on the table for discussion when everyone gets to meet each other at LOST. I wasn't thinking anything too serious, probably little to no traveling outside of F51 but if everyone as a group decides they want to do some stuff out-of-state then I would be with them 100%. We'll have to talk about it | |

| I would have to say I agree with Mike. I am still kinda' hesitant due to the fact that I'm new to the sport. I know that doesn't really matter to most folks, but for me it means I need to feel I am bringing something to the table. I am still interested, so don't take it that I'm not, I'm just saying we should get together and ask those burning questions... | |

| Excellent start guys. Ask Norm where T51 got the patches came from. Only a couple bucks each but you'll need a minimum order. I got my 'STUKA' and 'TEAM 51' tapes from here http://www.uniformnametape.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=207 You'll need a heavy duty sewing machine, or seamstress, or sew on by hand. They are the same thing the military uses.
When things start taking off again, economy-wise, and paintball popularity wise, Norm had some plans for a woodsball tournament series. Possibly next season or the next. So the teams with an early start will have better cohesion and more success at the tournament series. There was a place in NH that did it last season but due to lack of teams they dropped the series this season. I imagine it will all pick up again once the economy gets kickin again.
Being apart of a team is fantastic. You'll have a sense of belonging. Your members will share this overwhelming urge to play, eliminate, and get eliminated we all have in common. Paintball is a laid back sport but being competitive is first nature, but getting pounded by the competition is fun also. Being at a field with another team or teams is great regardless of how much you suck because the other teams gather you in as a fellow competing team and embrace your abilities and crazyness as an advanced unit capable of helping completing the objective...or being in the way of the objective, helping to feed the competitiveness. The other teams want you there, and the non-team members are envious of your creation, the team, the bunch of wacked people willing to join together and shoot together.
Some suggestions for having and being on a team. 1. No two teams have the same rules.
2. the fewer rules the better
c. have fun.
L. be flexible. Not all the members can play at the same time, or afford the same equipment, or have the same abilities, or shoot the same amount of paintballs.
7. set goals small at first.
Q. stay in contact with eachother via email, phone, facebook, forums, or whatever. Even if the team is not playng its not dead until you lose contact with each other.
z. Its paintball, not the military, not work, not something that has to be done. If you love paintball you're 50% qualified. The other 50% is what you make of it. The team captain or creator is just the guy who takes it out of park and puts it into drive. You make the horsepower. You pull the trigger. Theres a little extra work being on a team, but its fun work.

| and lets look at some of the other teams out there....
Team 1-10, So.Maine based. Successful SPPL team, pretty diligent about practice, kind of disolved this year. A good bunch of young guys.
Clown Posse. They play mostly scenarios, never played a tournament, yet we see them all the time in the PB magazines with their pumps and colorful jerseys. Old geezers really, but you sure want them on your side.
Blues Crew. A huge team with old school markers (yes, autocockers are old school now). They do some big woodsball games, they dont get paid but they go all over the country. They often are the losing side during the Castle Conquest games. Backed by EMR field in PA, and JT.
Carter's Cammandos. They wear Hawaiian shirts.
Team 51. A mix of old and young, new and experienced. Woodsball and scenarios only. We have tangled with Team 1-10, and did very well. But no tournaments yet. Been to OSG a couple times and measured up well there. Obviously sponsored by Field 51, but we're out to have fun, show people there is fun to be had at Field 51, and you don't need to be an outstanding player, just be someone who wants to play and be good sportman about it.
LA Hitmen. Pump tournament team. Not entirely successful but they keep going strong.
NE Hurricane. The popular team from New England but arguably not the best. It all depends on the day they are having running the air bunkers.
So there you have it. Your team is your team. Whether you're wearing tuxedo t-shirts or camo, its your team and it doesn't matter what you do or how well its done, it just a paintball team for fun.

| Thanks x10 for the great advise,
I checked out the link that you sent and it seems to be almost exactly what I was looking for: No minimum quantity, and most importantly inexpensive. (3 bucks:D ) Don't want being part of a team to turn into a financial commitment for anyone as that could turn out very very frustrating.
Chris brought up a really good point--Being on a team is all about fun. A couple people previously voiced a concern about being a part of this team turning into an unwanted commitment. Sure, some teams probably try to run themselves that way and they probably don't last very long, due to the fact that (And I'm making an assumption here) everyone that plays paintball at Field51 plays because they find it fun an enjoyable, not workish.

| Looks like everyone on the team is planning to be at LOST. Just getting a head count, let me know if I missed anyone. -Jay -Josh -Josh's Dad -Danny -Derek -Shane (Say that 5 times fast) We should all meet in the parking lot sometime in the morning for a very brief team meeting to discuss some questions that were brought up earlier in this forum. I know not all of us know everyone yet so it's a good opportunity to get to know each other as well. Norm gave me the OK to run a 50/50 Fundraiser Raffle on the upcoming Pump/Pistol day. The goal is to raise enough money to be able to get some sort of Team ID for the 6 of us. I'm capable of running it on my own but if anyone would like to volunteer to help out, that would be great. Don't worry about it unless you were planning on going to the pump/pistol day anyways. If anyone has any other simple, non-time-consuming fund raising idea's I'd like to hear them. (No selling candy bars, it's very time consuming and inefficient, and more of a pain in the @$$ than anything) | |
